Our Story

BN Blinds and Curtains is owned by Ricky Hughes. Ricky first started the business in September 2011 after many years of working in a factory manufacturing blinds and then as a fitter an estimator for other companies.

Initially Ricky worked on his own with all the samples of his wares on his van. He would show samples and return to customers some time later to fit everything that had been ordered.

At this early stage Ricky made many contacts with curtain makers and interior designer that we still have good working relationships with today. Due mainly to word of mouth it quickly became clear that there was more work than one man could do on his own and Ricky started the process of looking for a premises and staff to help the business move forward. A contact from his time working for other companies informed Ricky that a couple in Bexhill with a blind shop were due to retire. It was the perfect opportunity at the perfect time and BN Blinds and Curtain took over Harmony Blinds in Bexhill, renamed the shop and have not looked back since. Turnover has increased fourfold in the last two years mainly due to the shop, it location and Ricky’s excellent staff.

In the future we will be looking to expand to another premises as we continue to grow. With our customer base stretching from Shoreham by Sea to Rye along the coast and as far inland as Henfield, Haywards Heath, Uckfield and Battle we cover a large area and will go further afield for larger projects.
